Bertha McQueen was born on June 11, 1934 in Leslie County, Ky., the daughter of the late Millard and Mary Jane Scalf Sizemore.
She departed this life on Monday, July 4, 2016, being 82 years.
She was united in marriage to Jesse McQueen who preceded her in death.
She is survived by six children, Phillip McQueen and wife Cathy, Noel McQueen, Rita Wyatt and husband Jerry and Alan McQueen all of Lily, Geraldine Sutton and husband Mike and Judy Wilburn and husband John of Corbin; 22 grandchildren; 28 great- grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren, plus a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Besides her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by two children, Johnny McQueen and Victoria Queen.
She was a former employee of Caron Spinning Company and was a member of the Hopewell Baptist Church.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday, July 8, at Bowling Funeral Home with Hershel Walker and Larry Callahan officiating.
Burial will follow in the Queen Cemetery in Lily.
Pallbearers will be Phillip, Tyler, and Matt McQueen, Jordan Keltner, Michael and Dwayne Sutton, David Abshire, and Ronnie Sullivan.
Visitation was after 6 p.m. Thursday, July 7, also at the funeral home.
