Albert ‘Brub’ Fields Alfred “Brub” Fields, 76, was born on February 2, 1939 in Laurel County, Ky., the son of the late Doyle and Lily Mize Fields. He departed this life on Monday, Feb. 1, 2016. He was united in marriage to Joyce Philpot who survives. He is also survived by seven children, Karen Fields, Jeff Fields and wife Kathy, Todd Fields and wife Vicky, Trena Johnson and husband Ben, and Shawna Bowling and husband Scott, all of East Bernstadt, Steve Fields and Kathy Bowling and husband Lonnie, of London; two sisters, Alice Swanner and Joyce Gilkey and husband Bob, both of East Bernstadt; five brothers, Charles Dee Fields and wife Josephine of Richmond, Ind., Carl Fields and wife Dorothy, Ralph Fields and wife Phyllis and Terry Fields, all of London, and Randle Fields and wife Carolyn of East Bernstadt; eight grandchildren, Christina Sears, Jeremy Mills, Megan Fields, Sam, Logan and Zach Bowling, Jacob and Jody Johnson; four great-grandchildren, Samuel Kreis, Anna Leigh and Leighton Bowling and Tyler Sears, plus a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing. Besides his parents he was also preceded in death by two brothers, James and Tommy Fields. He was a retired construction worker, a Kentucky Colonel and a member of the River Hill Holiness Church. Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 5, in the chapel of Bowling Funeral Home with Larry Robinson and Ron Shaw officiating. Burial will follow in the Philpot-Fields Cemetery in East Bernstadt. Pallbearers will be Jeremy Mills, Logan and Zach Bowling, Tyler Sears, Garrett Fields, Chris Gilkey, and Sam Kreis. Honorary pallbearers will be Jacob and Jody Johnson and Sam Bowling. Visitation was after 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 4, also at the funeral home.
